LinkedIn is rolling out a new collaborative posting feature designed to deepen creator partnerships and extend the reach of content across its professional network, in a move that further signals the platform’s push towards creator monetisation.

The feature, called collaborative posts, will allow users to invite other LinkedIn members or company pages to co-author a single in-stream post.

The option will appear as “Add Collaborators” within the post composer settings, enabling creators to tag partners directly as co-creators.

“Great ideas love company. Whether at work or in life, some of the best moments of success and creativity come from collaboration. Think of new product launches, executives breaking major business news, creator sharing brand partnerships, or teammates celebrating company milestones. There’s almost always multiple people working behind the scenes to make magic happen,” LinkedIn said in a statement outlining the thinking behind the update.

Once a post is published, all collaborators will be visibly listed at the top, effectively tying each contributor to the same piece of content and its distribution.

“In time, members and LinkedIn pages will be able to share posts together on LinkedIn, and people will see all collaborators listed at the top of the post,” the company said.

It added that, “We’re testing this experience with a handful of creators and brands on the ground at Cannes starting today, and we’ll plan to roll this out further over the next few months.”

The Cannes test is an early rollout for creators, with a wider launch expected soon.

The new feature, which follows LinkedIn’s recent Creator Marketplace launch, is part of its push to grow its creator community and branded content. It also builds on new tools that let companies promote user posts.

All of this is meant to help creators make money more easily and help brands reach professional audiences in a better way. LinkedIn is also updating BrandLink to give creators more ways to earn from their content.

The collaborative posts feature is designed to help content spread further. When more people share the same post, it reaches a bigger audience than if it only comes from a company page.
